Welcome to the EFT for Procrastination Study Guide!
I am delighted that you are renewing your EFT Universe Clinical EFT Certified Practitioner credential. This renewal option is based on the book EFT for Procrastination by therapist and long-time tapper Gloria Arenson.
Procrastination is one of the most common reasons for which people use tapping. You’ll find a wealth of insight on how to work with them in the approaches and examples below.
In this course, you’ll read this short book and complete quizzes that test your knowledge of the material.
Prepare yourself by taking notes as you read. That will make passing the quizzes the first time easy. There are questions about EFT techniques, about the content of each chapter, and about the case histories provided as examples. Here are some sample test questions to give you an idea of what to expect:
Q: According to the author of EFT for Procrastination, what has contributed to the rise in procrastination?
- A lack of discipline
- Increased stress and multitasking
- Genetic predisposition
- A lack of motivation
Q: What common belief do many procrastinators hold that contributes to their delay in taking action?
- They enjoy the rush of completing tasks last minute
- They are afraid of making the wrong choice
- They believe everything must be perfect before starting
- They don’t care about the consequences of their procrastination
Q: How does EFT address the emotional responses that may arise during tapping?
- By ignoring the emotions and focusing only on the problem
- By suppressing the emotions to make progress
- By allowing the emotions to surface and tapping on them
- By repeating positive affirmations only
Q: What is one of the common beliefs of perfectionistic procrastinators?
- If I can’t do something perfectly, I shouldn’t do it at all.
- I must never make mistakes.
- I should always complete tasks without help.
- If I fail, I will be loved less.
As you can see, these questions are easy to answer if you’ve been taking notes. Pay close attention to the text, record pertinent points, and your notes will allow you to complete the quizzes effortlessly. If you’d like to get a hard copy from Amazon, here’s the order link.
The quizzes are “open book.” You can keep the PDF open in one screen or tab while you answer the quiz questions on a second screen or tab. You can also use the “search” function within the PDF to locate key words from a question or answer. The objective of the quizzes is to help you remember the important points from the book, and having the book “open” while you complete the questions assists with the process.
We also have an interview I did with Gloria Arenson, author of EFT for Procrastination. You can Watch it below. This material is optional and not on the quiz.
Even though you’re already a seasoned practitioner, you’re likely to learn a lot from this material. So approach it with “beginner’s mind” and have fun with this renewal course!
